Disney, Busch Gardens, etc. can be expensive, but do not need to be. 

Also, and as a for instance- there are many State Attractions that are attractive and affordable.

 

Rainbow Springs (near Dunellon, in Marion County) is a beautiful place, there are springs, a river you can canoe/kayak down or swim in, there are Barbeque Pits, Picnic Tables, and plenty of space. The wildlife is great. You can park there for free, and admission to the park is just $1. per person, for the day.
